Projet USIP

(en cours)

Why?

Psychiatric intensive care services are highly specialized services for people with acute mental disorders who require rapid assessment and stabilization through active engagement and intensive treatment. These people often have a reduced capacity for self-control, which is associated with increased risk to themselves or others.

As part of a wider project to transform the delivery of mental health services within its organization, the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) de la Capitale-Nationale identified the need to create a new psychiatric intensive care unit to better meet the needs of its population. To inform the planning and delivery of these new services, we co-designed a project to identify the clinical practices and organizational structures associated with effective, recovery-oriented psychiatric intensive care services.
