EXPÉRIENCES
Our research is guided by the experiences of people with mental health problems or illnesses within the healthcare system. Far too many Canadians have negative experiences when interacting with the health care system, including undetected or misdiagnosed conditions, delays in receiving appropriate treatment, fragmented care that does not fully meet their needs, or stigmatizing attitudes. Such experiences go against our values and motivate us to improve the delivery and organization of services so that care experiences can be better.

To help us achieve this goal, we regularly work with people who have experienced mental problems or illnesses. These people become full members of our research team and their experiential knowledge informs our projects.
