CO-MANAGEMENT FMG
Why ?
The last two decades have been marked by a series of health reforms that have transformed how primary care services are delivered and organized. These reforms have also impacted clinical and administrative management practices within primary care settings. In Quebec, forms of clinical-administrative co-management—in which medical directors share responsibility for the day-to-day management of their clinic with one or more administrative co-managers—have been adopted in some family medicine groups. However, little is known about these co-management practices, particularly regarding the perceived benefits of co-management, the challenges involved, the conditions required for positive co-management relationships, and the impacts of these practices.
